American Woodcuts: Printing in Relief

July 19 through September 29, 2024

MMAA is pleased to present an exhibition of over 50 master woodcuts from the MMAA permanent collection.

Drawn entirely from the museum’s graphic arts archive, the collection reveals how the American woodcut has evolved over the past century. While many of the prints retain their connections to traditional methods of woodblock printing, they all expose a medium capable of bold new forms of artistic expression representing several generations of American artists from the 1930s to present day.
