The Midwest Museum of American Art is pleased to announce a new exhibition “Politics & Religion”. The exhibit will open on Friday, August 7, and continue through Sunday, October 2, 2020.
Artists have been speaking out about issues that touch many lives for centuries. In Modern times, artists have taken the role in society as a mirror or a sounding board to such issues as the environment, political power, social justice, and religious tolerance. For this exhibit, the MMAA has selected meaningful ideas reflected in the works of artists from the past 100+ years. Included will be contemporary works by over 30 artists from Michiana.
Works of art include sculpture, paintings, and drawings from some of the nation’s most relevant visual creators. There are also posters to give a real-world perspective of issues as far back as World War II.
The exhibit will open on Friday, August 7, and continue through Sunday, October 2, 2020.
